This research study aims to make an assessment of the impact of economic trends in Germany on its chemical, materials and foods (CMF) industry. The chemicals and materials industry is currently facing challenges in terms of rapid globalization, consolidation and technological change. Purchase of food are taken on the basis of health and fitness grounds in Germany and as a result low calorie foods and functional foods are gaining popularity. This research service analyses how economic conditions are expected to influence the development of the German CMF industry. Trends of the German economy and German CMF industry have been identified and analyzed for the period 2001-2006 and forecasted for 2007-2010.
