Description

This issue of Oil and Gas Technology Opportunity Engine (TOE) features information on the use of advanced sub-sea power technology systems for reliable power supply for remote oil and gas fields and the development of high performance automation systems for precision drilling in deep wells. The TOE also features the use of next-generation re-fracturing systems in the oil & gas industry and the use of high performance chemicals in enhanced oil and gas recovery. The TOE focuses on innovations associated with the use of cost effective ultrasonic technology to increase the oil recovery rates in enhanced oil recovery (EOR) systems. The TOE provides intelligence on the use of polymer based silica nano-particles for improving oil exploration efficiency, the use of next generation cement slurry for improving oil drilling operations and the use of bio-degradable spider silk glue that can effectively replace crude oil based adhesives in industrial operations and also results in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The TOE additionally provides insights on the latest developments in cost-effective shale oil production methods, oil spill detection methods and the latest trends in membrane-based technologies that will reduce energy consumption and release of greenhouse gas emissions in oil refining processes.

The Oil and Gas TOE provides intelligence on innovations pertaining to technologies, products, and processes, along with strategic insights, in the upstream and downstream processes in the oil and gas industry.

The Energy and Utilities cluster provides global insights and intelligence on a wide variety of disruptive emerging technologies and platforms ranging from energy storage, advanced batteries, solar and wind energy, to unconventional oil, bioenergy, geothermal energy, and energy transmission.

Keywords: Automated drilling technology, sub-sea power technology, next generation re-fracturing systems, ultrasonic enhanced oil recovery, synthetic spider silk glue, spirocyclic polymers, oil spill remediation, smart leak detection, enhanced oil recovery
