Description

This edition of the Industrial Bioprocessing TOE focuses on the sustainable biological production processes for the manufacture of acetone. It also provides information on utilization of gene editing techniques enhancing oil production capacity of microalgae, and the use of  sustainable liquid fertilizers to simultaneously treat wastewater and to produce micro-algal biofuels. The TOE also features information on the development of novel photo-bioreactors with enhanced optics for the production of high yielding micro-algae. The TOE also focuses on innovations associated with the development of advanced microbial formulations for improving the bio-kinetics of wastewater treatment facilities, and use of bio-based binding agents for manufacturing resins used in furniture. The TOE additionally provides insights on the development of bio-based fertilizers and sustainable leather production.

The Industrial Bioprocessing TOE provides intelligence on technologies, processes and strategic insights of industries involving bioprocessing, including innovations in the development and production of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, alternative fuels, chemical feedstocks, food and beverages, and consumer products.

Keywords: Thermophilic bacteria, bioalgae, nitrification, biofuels, sustainable pigments, bio-fungicides, vegan leather, renewable polyurethane, circular economy, wastewater treatment
