Description
Frost & Sullivan has been researching the emergence of real-time cities for several years. At the heart of the topic, the convergence of data from different domains is gaining momentum. Cities are publishing an increasing range of their own data sources internally and externally to provide better information and enable better decision making. Open data portals are becoming more visible as they grow in number and stature. So far, however, published data has remained mainly static and structured, such as geo tags and address data. Current data-related processes are often manual, and data is scattered across departments and systems in different formats and without a systematic reuse, leaving value creation potential unused and leaving much work to be done.
